Veganuary: A trend you need to be aware of...

It's Veganuary... are you aware of this trend and the implications it can have on your pub or restaurant?

Is your pub/restaurant menu ready for Veganuary?

FYI – having some lettuce or greens on the menu doesn’t class as a Vegan-friendly Menu!!

In recent times, Veganism has transformed from a niche diet to a serious and sustainable food trend, which is having major impacts on consumer behaviour. Therefore, pubs, restaurants and bars must be prepared for Veganuary, which is an opportunity for anyone to become ‘Vegan’ for the month of January. The craze is growing in popularity, with over 500,000 individuals taking the pledge last year. Click the link to find out more... https://uk.veganuary.com/

Veganuary provides a great opportunity for restaurants and pubs, by catering for those who are trying Veganism for the first time, or those who choose to consistently follow this diet due to reasons including health, environmental or animal welfare.

According to a survey by Finder.com, 22% of the UK population follow a vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian diet, about 6% of that is vegan... Doesn’t sound like much, but this is a trend set to grow continuously over the coming years and is something hospitality players can look to capitalise on.

Most chain restaurants and cafes now offer vegan options as standard, including the likes of All Bar One, Costa, Starbucks, Nando’s and Dominos.
